ACC Safety New Zealand Week
This year ACC Safety New Zealand Week, September 3-9, will set the scene for the beginning of a three year safety communication strategy to increase safety awareness and create change.
During the week, the best initiatives from the NZ Community Safety and Injury Prevention Awards will be promoted - sharing stories of how individuals, communities and workplaces have made great changes to keep their whanau, families, neighbours and workmates safe.
After Safety Week, safety successes will continue to be celebrated at a community and national level. This will help create an appropriate environment to start a wider “safety conversation", moving into years two and three of the programme.
The aim is to generate a community led change by taking the hundreds of safety initiatives and actions going on around New Zealand and promoting them widely. We want to provide a platform where people can see what they CAN do and share their story to help others.
The Safety Week website will be live the week commencing 20 August. Longer term this will become a safety community space where the content is driven by the users.
