New members for the NZIPS Secretariat

The NZIPS Secretariat are thrilled to announce two new, dynamic members to the team- Diana Pedlow and Dee Young.

Diana's previous role was as a programme manager in the ACC IP Group Public Safety Programmes team. She brings an in-depth background in injury prevention from both an operations background and programme design and management. Her previous roles have included health promotion officer, road safety coordinator, ACC injury prevention consultant and programme manager working on child safety and older adult fall prevention.

Dee's previous role was as a programme manager in the ACC IP Group Public Safety Programmes team. Her background includes communications and event management in both the public and private sectors, policy analyst and since 2002, project co-ordination and programme management in ACC. Dee's recent work in ACC has involved falls prevention for older adults including arrangements for delivery of prevention programmes and building capacity with providers.

With the addition of Dee and Diana, the Secretariat have reviewed our work programme, including managing the Secretariat's relationship with the lead agencies’ for the six priority areas within the Strategy.

Therefore, the split of the priority areas, within the NZIPS team, is as follows:

  • Dee Young - Suicide, Assault (Abuse Prevention)
  • Diana Pedlow - Falls and Drowning
  • Bhama Rajiv - Workplace and Road Safety
