New injury prevention database underway

The NZIPS Secretariat is currently establishing an online database of injury prevention initiatives, projects and programmes. It is anticipated that the database will improve collaboration between injury prevention providers and also a means of informing the general public.

Currently the project is in its initial stages with Jane Mills, the information specialist contracted by the Secretariat, sourcing information and contacting injury prevention practitioners to establish what programmes are currently being offered.

The database is planned to go live mid this year and is envisaged to be an easy to use format. It will have the ability to be searched by region, right down to territorial local authority, and also by injury prevention category.

As the project progresses, Jane will contact practitioners and the Secretariat will keep you informed.
